More than 120 acres of parks and playfields dot the City of Mountlake Terrace, a community at once a residential haven and home to a growing number of businesses.
Economic development is a priority, and community leaders are working to redevelop the city’s downtown core even the city enjoys the success of its Gateway Plaza shopping area.
 There’s no excuse for boredom in Mountlake Terrace. Lake Ballinger is a favorite spot for boating, fishing and windsurfing, and a nine-hole golf course winds along the lakeshore. A first-class city recreation pavilion offers a swimming pool, whirlpool spa, exercise room, dance area, arts and crafts room, racquetball and basketball courts. Hockey teams and competitive skaters from across the country join residents at Mountlake Terrace’s Olympic-quality ice rink. A full schedule of community events includes everything from Tour de Terrace, a summer festival, to Arts in the Terrace, an annual arts celebration with a juried art show.
