Called the “quiet place,” Woodway attracts walkers and bicyclists to its peaceful tree-lined streets, beautiful homes, and pastoral landscapes.
Founded in 1912 and incorporated in 1958, all residential lots are currently at least one-third of an acre. Woodway is known for its secluded estate-like homes tucked away behind the hemlock, Douglas fir and cedar trees that cover the area.
The city’s mayor and council members who serve their town voluntarily govern Woodway. Arrangements with surrounding communities allow Woodway residents to obtain vital services without giving up its feeling of quiet rural living.
